GT550 Outer-Wrap

GT550 Outer-Wrap for pipe coating

Product Description of GT550 Outer-Wrap

GT550 Outer-Wrap is bitumen-impregnated non-woven glass fiber reinforced fabric which is impregnated with bitumen enamel to ensure optimum protection of the fibers and to facilitate bleed-through of the enamel.
The product is manufactured to an exact degree of porosity which promotes effective adhesive between outer-wrap and enamel.
GT550 comprises a uniform fabric of chemically resistant borosilicate glass, reinforced longitudinally with continuous filament glass yarns at 8-10 mm centers.
This type of outer-wrap is suitable for most soil conditions.

Application of GT550 Outer-Wrap

Bitumen Enamel is applied to steel pipes, previously primed with Synthetic Primer, at 215-230°C. Also, one or two layers of inner-wrap and one layer of outer-wrap are used in this coating system.

Storage

GT550 Outer-wrap is stored upright on a dry surface. The product should not be exposed to direct sunlight and maximum storage height is 2.50 m.

Standards

GT550  meets and exceeds the requirements for outer-Wraps in EN 10300, type B and AWWA C 203.

Quality Control

All raw materials for GT550 are tested and approved in the laboratories of RAHA BITUMEN Co. The quality of the finished outer-Wrap is controlled in accordance with related standard or customer’s specific requirements and a test certificate is provided for each batch produced.
