Description of Ruberized Bitumen Emulsion (RBE)
Rubberized Bitumen Emulsion (RBE) is an emulsified rubber modified bitumen coating, which dries to form a tough, seamless, flexible vapor proof protective coating. Polycoat RBE 10 conforms to the requirement of ASTMD 1227 Type lll, class 1.
RBE is ideal for pavement rejuvenation, surface sealing, crack treatment, and maintenance works, offering superior performance under both high and low temperatures. By blending the flexibility of rubber with the bonding strength of bitumen, RBE delivers long-lasting pavement protection and sustainability benefits.
How is ruberized Bitumen Emulsion Used in Asphalt?
A priming coat is strongly recommended before Rubberized Bitumen Emulsion to the substrate. The primer can be prepared on-site by diluting Polycoat Emulsion with 20% water and using this diluted mixture as the primer coat. For substrates that are very dry or highly porous, two coats of primer should be applied. The primer may also be used on damp or newly cast concrete surfaces, but it must not be applied to waterlogged areas or locations with flowing water. Additional coats should only be applied once the primer has fully dried. If the top coat is delayed by more than 24 hours, a fresh layer of primer must be reapplied.

Storage and Handling
Drums should be stored in a covered location, protected from direct sunlight, UV exposure, and any heat sources. When kept sealed and stored according to the recommended conditions, the product maintains a shelf life of up to 12 months. Not following these storage guidelines or exposing the product to excessive sunlight and UV can lead to quality degradation and a shorter shelf life.
