Loss on heating wt% of bitumen 60/70 is maximum 0.2 percent based on ASTM D-6. Drop-in penetration of this grade is maximum 20 percent based on ASTM D-6 and ASTM D-5.
Flash point of bitumen grade 60/70 is greater than 250-degree centigrade based on the ASTM D-92 method of testing.
The flash point may be measured according to IP 36/84 in an Open Cup or by IP Method 34/88 or equivalent in a Closed Cup.
Penetration Grade Bitumen 60/70 is as soluble in CS2 as common bitumen and its solubility factor is greater than 99.5 wt% based on ASTM D-4.
The spot test for this grade of bitumen is negative and paraffin wax content is less than 2%.
